After a year out, I am back to my beloved country. But rather than enjoying Antigua, the Lake or taking a break to hang out with my friends and family, I am going to spend some time chatting with university students.

The agenda is USAC on Friday 22th (9:30am and 4:00pm), UPanamericana on Saturday 23th (8:00am), Galileo on Monday 25th (9:10am and 6:10pm), UFM on Tuesday 26th (10:00am) and also URL that day (12:10pm and 5:30pm).

I will be speaking about Internet trends and how to open new doors for your career with them.

The event is part of the activities of Exponet 2008, organized by Prensa Libre.

To finish next week I will be heading to Miami to enjoy the first FOWA and their Beach Party (yes, I am still missing Brasil). We already have some names for the passes to join us in the event.

TwittBarna, the first monthly meeting of twitter users in Barcelona is starting tonight in the Irish Rock Cafe (Plaza Urquinaona, 5). It’s about sharing a drink, talk about the world of twitter and meet the people behind the avatar.

The event is part of Twittday, a project that started in Madrid with TwittMad. Check out the flickr pics from previews events.

This 29th of november, Networking Activo will have its Second Business Meeting event in Barcelona and I’ll be there. The first one in Madrid was a great opportunity to meet a lot of people from the Internet business in Spain.

Thanks to Emilio for the invitation and hope to meet more great people -more than 180 confirmed guests. The program seems very complete with a Keynote from Enrique Dans, a well known teacher and blogger here in Spain.

I have arrived to the lovely Seville very excited to spend the weekend, and be part of Evento Blog Second Edition, the biggest event for the blog industry in Spain.

The program seems very promising, it includes a great diversity of workshops and conferences; the networking this weekend will be great.
I’m particularly interested in the conferences of Hernan Casciari (Orsai), Jose Luis Orihuela (eCuaderno) and Biz Stone (twitter).

By the way, this weekend I’ll also meet Jure Cuhalev from Slovenia. I first meet him in Web 2.0 expo in Berlin, were he introduced me to Zemanta. They’ve been working on a technology to analyze contents while you write. The main objective is being able to auto-complete your posts with pictures, tags, links and related links on the fly. Seriously, one of the best plugins I’ve seen for Wordpress, and a great opportunity for develop it in spanish.

Jure will be in Sevilla during the weekend. He booked the flight to attend EBE, but the event registration was already closed -since the website is in Spanish he asked for my help, but it was to late-. He would love to meet other bloggers in town and share a demo, so let him know at Zemanta blog.

There will be no rest this weekend, because 17-18 of november will be a great opportunity to meet with friends from all over Spain, do Networking and share some thoughts about Online Communities in the I Webmaster Congress promoted by Factoria de Internet.

The event will be held in the Palacio de Congresos in Madrid and there is a couple thousand confirmed attendees with speakers like Angel Maria, Carlos Blanco, Gonzalo Ruiz, o Rubén Calvo, Bernardo Hernández, Joshua Novick, Samuel Arenas, Eneko Knörr, Pep Sánchez, David Quirant, Miguel Orense and David Martin.

GarageFlash está cumpliendo un añito. Para celebrarlo, a partir de hoy a las 10am (GMT-5) y concluyendo mañana tendrán varias charlas en la jornada 365g (Horario) que podrán disfrutarse de forma gratuita y online. Yo estoy invitado para hablar a las 6pm sobre lo que hay, lo que se viene y los retos de las aplicaciones web.

Si pueden, no duden en pasarse por allí.

Luego de recorrer Bristol, Manchester, Brighton, Cardiff, Londres, Edinburgo, Dublín, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen y Berlín, el FOWA Road Trip visita este viernes la Ciudad Condal como había comentado en julio al arrancar el tour.

Me interesa mucho aprovechar a conocer a Ryan Carson, un interesante emprendedor que fundo Carson Group cuyos eventos y otros proyectos como Vitamin y DropSend.

La reunión será en el Sushi Bar Kynoto, (c/ de la Ciutat 5, Placa Sant Jaume, Barcelona) a las 8pm. Confirmen su asistencia a través de Facebook o de Upcomming (solo necesitan cuenta de Yahoo).

Uno de los eventos que más disfruté en Madrid fue el Iniciador al que asistí en mayo. Y aquí en Barcelona seguro que también hay lugar para juntarse, compartir una caña, conocer gente simpática.

Por ello, Sacha Fuentes está dando el banderazo de salida a BCNEmprende, un encuentro de emprendedores en la Ciudad Comdal donde ya hay varios apuntados. La cita es el 12 de septiembre en un lugar aún no definido, aunque espero que toque por el lindo barrio de Gracia, que por cierto va a estar de fiesta muy pronto.

Seguro que hay oportunidad para nuevas iniciativas y que vendrán a complementar de buena manera otros eventos en la ciudad que recomiendo: First Tuesday, Ingvar, Club de Emprendedores, Encuentro de Desarrolladores y Mobile Monday.

Y también para septiembre, no olviden que tenemos el Future of Web Applications Road Trip de visita en la ciudad. Alguien me comentaba que dudaba de ir porque será en inglés, pero espero que en serio no usen esto de excusa.

Mañana me toca puente aéreo para escaparme a Madrid y participar en la 1era Jornada de Negocios de Networking Activo. Un evento que sin duda reunirá a gente realmente talentosa e inspiradora de la región relacionados con el campo del Internet.

La actividad de esta semana estará interesante en este lado del charco.

La semana arrancará con Mobile Monday donde me interesa muchísimo la charla de Anil de Melo de Mobuzz, así como la de Ivan Communod de vpod.

El martes será de First Tuesday, actividad promovida por Carlos Blanco y donde la verdad, los 3 ponentes suenan muy interesantes.

Luego el jueves me traslado a Madrid para el Congreso de Ojo Buscador. Desde que se planteo el evento me llamó la atención y me alegra haber podido arreglármelas para asistir. Veré a muchos amigos de España que estarán presentes, a un Tico que cruzará el charco con esta excusa y aprovecharé para ponerle cara a muchos nicknames con quienes alguna vez se intercambiaron interesantes correos.

Me he apuntado también a la Noche del Congreso y lamento no poder estar presente también el miércoles en Madrid en el Beers & Entrepenours.

Y finalmente a atravesar el charco de regreso a casa al final de la semana. ExpoNet arranca en Guatemala el 13 de marzo y serán días interesantes para compartir con la comunidad desarrolladora del país.
